What a Ride! Endgame Experience!
I must state simply that The Avengers series has gotten exponentially more exciting with every piece of the puzzle over the years, causing expectation levels to rise with each new installment. I was a bit nervous when the advertisements for #Endgame started to show up.
I have been exposed to this genre of film since my four sons were youngsters and none of us has stopped loving the various superheroes that really do exist in the imagiverse of sci-fi comic existence.
I have my favorites, of coures, being a closet Thor groupie. He is not dissimilar to HeMan, a favorite of my oldest. That child used to watch his Saturday lineup of cartoons, having to don full attire for each one, complete with his version of Bruce Banner clothes and Hulk’s torn transformation outfit. Of course, back in those days we were watching reruns of Lou Ferrigno and Bill Bixby’s Hulk, my personal favorite. 😉 Love you too, #Mark Ruffalo and Ed Norton, Jr.
So, if you have time, you must catch up on Spiderman-all of them-, The Incredible Hulk, Ironman, Antman-1&2-, Thor, Black Panther, all of The Avengers, Captain America, Captain Marvel….oh, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Got it? 🙈
I regularly tug out my copy of Guardians of the Galaxy when I want to feel hope for this troubled world. A good soundtrack while saving humanity is definitely a must for me.
ummmm….there is no secret about what a #Chris Pratt fan I am. Love the Pratt man. This might be my favorite role of his though.
So, unless you know the basic storylines for the main characters in Endgame, you might be lost and not enjoy the film as much as you could. However, if you like humor, action, great special effects, excitement and heartwarming moments, your expectations will surely be met in this movie. It was a thrill ride for me! Big thanks to all the cast, creators-R.I.P Stan Lee-and supporting crew that brought this Disney production to life for us- the rabid fans of #The Avengers.
Experience the wonder, the thrill, the pure genius that is Marvel’s Avengers Endgame. Even just so you can say you did.
This post is brought to you courtesy of Linda Hill’s #SoCS prompt. Visit her blog for more great posts. Today’s prompt was to use xp in the post, either alone or in words.
Happy #Free48 folks. That expression has a whole new meaning for me this weekend! Yay! Beer and movies, walks and sunshine, oh yeaaahhh….

Oh Bother..
Don’t miss the magic, the treasure, the wisdom, the heartbeat that is Pooh.
“Christopher Robin, what day is it?”
”Why, it’s Today, Pooh.”
”Oh, my very favorite day.”
A bit of Pooh will soothe the soul.

Traditionally Twisted/ChristmasFun
While I wish all my family could be together for the holidays, I was thrilled to have two of my sons and their sweeties to share this special time with. Here are a few of the highlights. We have always been big movie fanatics-no wonder they all love movies and music. One continues to play music any chance he gets while another has chosen the film industry as his work.
We watched all the usual traditional Christmas favorites as well as the freaky and fun new additions over the years. One of our favorites, especially for my hubby and youngest, was A Christmas Story. “Bumpasses!” And “You’ll shoot your eye out!” ring throughout the house every year and the laughs always come during the final scenes of the turkey tragedy and Chinese dinner. Farararara…..
So, when we saw the suit in the store….
Oh Ralphie, that is so adorable….not! Lol
Now I’m ready…….
Thank you guys for so much fun this year!
I miss you all!!
Don’t Give Up/#1LinerWednesday
In these past few weeks my will to continue this seriously flawed experiment called humanity has been tested. There have been moments when I have asked my Creator why I am here, feeling invisible, out of place and very much alone.
As usual, a visit to Mother Earth renews my Spirit for another week. I love the symphony of color, light and simple beauty that exists in every living, purportedly ‘unintelligent’ thing. Who needs words when you are surrounded by this?
My one goal in life is to not leave it with regrets. You just have to choose your battles and learn to enjoy the dance in between. Just look at Nature for direction. She knows how to live. And die.
Guess I’ll ponder things awhile longer….
I Could’a Been a Contender…#1LinerWeds
But nooooooo…….
Earwhat?! #SoCS
I’ve never told him this, but I rely on Dan to supply the #SoCS prompt for me each week. I get the notice for his post first, check it out, copy the link and get mine going. Oh, hi Dan! Thanks for the reminder of the reminder. The truth is I love the ‘If We Were Having a Beer’ stories so much. Congrats on hitting one thousand posts (and congrats to the weary Editor too) 😏
Now, back to that prompt. When I first saw Linda’s prompt I thought it said, ‘earwig’. That word conjured up horrific images of me From my childhood, blissfully watching TV on the cool clean floor on a hot Saturday night until abruptly having my world explode when someone shouts, “stinkbug!” which, in my family, means “earwig”! Then it was mayhem as my Dad went for a shoe and we kids flew in four different directions. Sometimes we even missed Flipper saving Bud. Or Sandy saving Bud, or Bud and Sandy saving Flipper.😱
Then this image flew into my brain.
Rabid Rod Serling (Dan) fans will know the series and the episode immediately. But those of you who don’t can watch it here.
THE most frightening episode of Night Gallery for me. Ever. Wait. Maybe it was the spider that kept crawling up from the sink-only bigger. Or maybe the dummy that came to life. Or maybe….you get the picture.
Well, when I looked twice and realized it was, in fact, ‘earworm’ I breathed a sigh of relief because, God knows, I didn’t want to relive those horrific memories!
Now, darn if I didn’t just post an earworm story Here two days ago.
However, it seems I normally wake up with a new earworm every few days so today’s magical mystery tour brings us to the song that was in the movie last night, The Keeping Hours, oddly enough recognized by another blogging friend a few days ago. It was a fvaorite of mine in the 70’s. You can check out Jill’s blog Over here if you like. The song?
And, now here’s the really strange part about all of this-(cue Twilight Zone intro music) This song has long been my “cure” tune to rid myself of an earworm song. Please don’t ask for the science behind it but just know that it works. Perhaps the slow pace, the concentration it takes to sing the lyrics, or just the fact that it puts me into a meditative romantic place. It works. Every time. What word were we talking about? I’ve forgotten now.
Happy #Free48 guys! Go out and make it memorable. Hugs from me and the bugs!
Good Movies…
This one was…so good.
The Keeping Hours. On Netflix now.
I can only compare the feeling to that after reading a Mitch Albom book.
Happy #Free48..
Tears and Beers/#SoCS
When I saw the prompt for Linda Hill’s #SoCS it gave me a chuckle. I mean, who doesn’t love bodily functions? After I considered the amusing possibilities I decided to wait until the day unfolded. I knew we would have an adventure of some kind; and well, my body would be functioning for most of it, right?
My heart has been longing to see this new film and it did not disappoint. Can you guess which bodily functions were working during the movie? No, you scoundrels, not those. 🙄
Laughter and tears, that’s what. And so many moments nudged them out. This is a great feel good film. Disney does it every time. We can all benefit from Pooh’s wisdom. Especially a Piglet like me. 😊 See the movie and be rejuvenated. If you haven’t read A. A. Milne’s classic book you should.
Now, I know the title of this post wasn’t tears and laughter, so…..
After the movie we were hungry so we headed to mid-town for a Burger Quest. I called our son for a recommendation and he suggested Grindhouse Killer Burgers and even met us there to spend time with the ‘old folks’!

On my new scale for measuring a burger’s worth-The Wahl-O-Meter (named for my favorite Wahlburger), this one gets a strong 9.5! Pure yumminess and terrific service.
We try to plan ahead so we popped over to the local bakery to pick up breakfast goodies. Of course, one might choose to have something for dessert…later on…maybe.
I hope your day has included some fun quests! Seize the #Free48!
Running Late With Free 48
I guess that must mean it has been a good 48 hours! Plus. Well, it has. Although the weather has kept us tap dancing between sun/no sun and the occasional misting rain, we managed to get out for a few mini adventures. I didn’t want to leave the fun behind without sharing it with you, my good friends. I hope wherever you are, you are finally feeling the gentle nudge of Spring and have been able to get out for a bit of fun and some sunshine. For many of you I hope that sun does a dandy job of melting ice and snow!
On good weeks my Free 48 starts on Friday afternoon and last week was no exception. We normally like to do something fun then since many people are still at work and there is less crowding as well as traffic. It was on my Free 48 wish list to see the new hit film Ready Player One. This film is based on the best selling book by Ernest Cline. It is a great film for both young and old, especially if you left part of your heart or your boogie shoes in the 80’s. Filled with pop culture references and based on the best loved video games of that era, this movie is action packed and good for the entire family. I am currently reading his second book Armada. I knew it would be action packed so suggested we go for the 3D theater which I never do normally and we did not regret it. The AMC venue had full reclining seats with completely separated aisles. That translates to ‘better-than-at-home comfort and no one to kick our seats. They were motorized and the temperature and volume were absolutely perfect too. I would recommend it to anyone. An extra bonus was that the entire film was in 3D so no taking the glasses off and on.
That was just the beginning. We knew we were hungry but our first stop at Copeland’s was a bust. When we asked to sit in the bar they put us at the table right by the steps in the direct path of all traffic. There were other tables open but still they sat us there. After a few minutes we got up and left. Know what they said over our shoulders? “Thank you for coming in!” WTH? New age service….
So we headed to The Battery where we were ignored or treated with ho hum attitude in three more restaurants before going into the newly opened Punch Bowl Social. The venue is pretty incredible and the ideas behind what the owner is doing are noble. There are three bars, all kinds of fun stuff including a mini bowling alley, pool tables, fooseball, ping pong, and giant scrabble. There is a nice patio upstairs as well. BUT….the prices were ridiculous and the food fell short in a few ways. They are trying some eclectic and healthy selections but the portions were too small for the money. My Old Fashioned was awesome but hubby’s drinks were not worth the extra money and the beer selection was limited although they did have some local craft brews. I can’t say it will be a regular hang like Wahlburgers has become. Well…see for yourself.
That wrapped up our regular week. Sleeping in Saturday morning was nice since we knew it was due to rain and be cold all day. I planned to do some jewelry work and we did get out to Michael’s for some supplies. Oh. And I made some gnarly waffles for our brunch. 😊

On to Sunday. I really wanted an outing but the destination I hoped for was closed today so we headed back up to the Kennesaw Mountain Battlefield Park. We didn’t get to hike and there were so many people but I did get out in the old section we visited before to get a few shots. The area is so amazing. We enjoyed the drive as well. After that we treated ourselves to dinner at the Marietta Diner. It is always such an experience. Good food for the money and seriously great service. The dessert deserves a restaurant all its own….
What’s left? My dear lovelies in the yard are knocking themselves out in spite of the chill. The Rhododendron is on fire with color. And I will leave you with these. I hope everyone had a peaceful weekend and that your week is brilliant. Hang in there guys….
