“Mayonaise Well…”/#1LinerWeds

When spoken with a deep West Texas drawl, that would be “my-nez” of course, which I just realized is the way I manage to express the intent to move forward with a plan of action.

Example: “We my-nez well hit the road early to avoid the traffic.”

Mind you,  it’s a subtle sound, almost unrecognizable; and I have done it my entire Southern life without knowing it until this morning.

Of course I am saying, “might as well”, and do enunciate in most all actual conversations. It just seems to be an over-the-shoulder familiar slang language that I use when feeling comfortable with family or friends for my entire life. It sits right up there alongside:

”I’ll holler at you later.”

”We’re fixin’ to go get burgers.”

😱 Where and when did it begin? Why have I never noticed it before? Nobody knows…

Meanwhile, let me intoduce you to the inspiration for the slang, if only subliminally. (Warning: all mayonaise haters should leave the room now)

This jar of magical fluffy white yumminess is the secret ingredient to my ‘famous’ potato salad, great tuna salad, chicken salad, burgers, dressings……..you get it?

Okay then, I have confessed to my faux pas. Now I my-nez well go make a sandwich. 😀💕

    1. Oh. You’re one of “those” people. Next thing you ‘ll be telling me is that you don’t care for chocolate either. 😱Ah well…to each his own, John.
