A little rain must fall…
I don’t think my little friend is concerned with getting wet.
This post is part of Linda Hill’s prompt #1LinerWednesday.
There is peace in the shadows.
There is reprieve from heat and rest from toiling.
There is silence, cool and large.
There is silence beating in time with Nature’s heart.
Sweet whispers pass like lovers’ vows,
Pink kisses drawn from soft round cheeks-
stealing golden moments.
Steal away
into the shadows…

Oblivious
not aware or concerned about what is happening around one..
unaware, unconscious, heedless, unmindful, insensible, unheeding, ignorant, unsuspecting, unobservant, unconcerned, impervious, unaffected, insensitive, indifferent, detached, incognizant
To sink into desire’s delight
with wild abandon, not to fight
heart’s impetuous impulse.
Sweet, the taste of freedom,
soft the warmth of embrace,
unsuspecting of the moment
when you leave without a trace.
What cares for convention in
the brilliant light of promise-
to live, to drink, to breathe
this ecstasy…
obliviously!

Extremely beautiful and, typically, delicate.
“exquisite, jewellike portraits”
synonyms: beautiful, lovely, elegant, graceful
”Her beauty is humbly exquisite, her graceful movements mesmerize the sun into submission, and the wind worships her magnificent countenance…”
Sigh…
I love the weekend. Not just because I don’t have to get up before the sun, force myself to face the shower and go to work, but because of all the wonderful opportunities these 48 hours afford me.
I usually start my weekend with coffee on the back porch, phone and camera at the ready, just in case something miraculous comes along. As usual there was no shortage of such miracles today and perhaps I will share more of them later.
The other great thing about weekends is that I have the chance to work on my creative projects. Since I work out of our dining area which faces the back porch, I can still watch for little surprises now and then.
This afternoon brought one such unexpected delight. We usually see Zippy, our resident chipmunk, or one of his relatives and descendents darting across the yard or hanging near the edge of the porch just daydreaming; but by the time I grab my camera the visitors have disappeared. Today I was stealthier than my little friend, or perhaps he was just distracted by hunger and determination. Either way I managed to photograph his little adventure.
Literally. 🙊
In a flash he was off into the bushes again. And we have solved the mystery of the smashed leaves on our plant from time to time.
I just can’t get past the cuteness, even though he looks like a fancy rat. 😉💕
I hope you find whatever thrills you and fills you this weekend.
The key to harmony..
is knowing when to enjoy the spotlight…
…and when to step back, allowing others to be brilliant.
There are times, it seems,
like in misty dreams
where a lack of color
brings clarity.
Subtle hues of
shadow and light,
a silent whisper
of Earth’s delight.
Timeless,
Motionless,
Ethereal.
Perhaps the reds
and golds and blues,
the roses’ blush
and sunset views,
obscure,
detract,
the impact
of line and form,
cool and warm.
Enter imagination-
sharp, unfurled-
in the blink of an eye
to color my world!

Not five minutes after I mentioned that the last to visit my garden were the faeries, I got a surprise! This beauty showed up and stayed with mein the garden, even allowing me to catch a few photos. I would swear it set this one up as a pose!
I hope you each have miraculous moments in your week, those brief reposes that, in the blink of an eye, will rejuvenate your soul, quench your thirst for magnificence and encourage you on your path.
Love and Light always,
Cheryl
