I hope you’ll take a minute to visit my blogspot post in honor of my father who passed away this week. I also hope you are all doing well.
Love and Light is so necessary in these troubling times. I feel like we are waiting for Lord Voldemort to show up. 😞🧙🏻♀️🙈

It was with a sad heart full of fond memories that I wrote today’s post on Dreaming Existence
We lost another music legend, this time to the unforgiving virus that has begun to rule our moments, reminding us that it is the moments that count.
Stay well. Stay at home for now.
New post on Dreaming Existence. Follow me there.
New post over at Dreaming Existence. I hope you have time to stop by. It’s brief but pointed. I am feeling very discouraged about what I thought was the existence of human decency. This week has shown me a lot of rising ugly behavior and it is quite frightening. Many wish to turn their heads or worse yet, egg it on. It disgusts me on so many levels. The lid to Pandora’s box has been opened and the latch broken. My own dream is rapidly turning into a nightmare.
On the post you will find a photo of an American Bald Eagle. Here I have posted the image of a baby Osprey I had the pleasure of sharing some precious moments with after its maiden flight from the nest. If not for the little miracles…
Love and Light,
Cheryl
invisible
insignificant
impudent
ignorant…
Fading..
falling
failing
flailing
against the current..
clinging..
clawing
crying
to the darkness…
you win!
The light within
slowly dies,
not by the sword
but the word..
so many words-
cruel
careless
cold
callously bold.
beware!
This life
so fragile
fickle
fleeting…
ephemeral beauty
in hand
so quickly slips away…
as a child’s blown bubble,
lost on the winds
of desperation..
salvation
for the weary
bleary
teary eyed dreamer.
we seldom recognize magnificence until it is gone..
we are not forever in this dream,
nightmare
illusion
confusion
of the soul.
Will you say you know me
on the far side of eternity?
Will you even recognize my face
in that strange, exotic place
of forgotten sorrows?
I wonder….
I am the piece that
doesn’t fit
the square peg
in a sea of round
holes.
I shall not forget,
never regret
that we met-
once more.

This about sums up my feelings right now, folks. I’m dizzy from shaking my head and my heart near broken for the sad state of this world…starting right here in our own homeland.
Neither can I…..😔
I am proud to say I saw Peter Noone perform this live in Baton Rouge some years back and he signed my copy of the CD. What a gentle and talented soul. You should also check out the live version he does yearly with his daughter for a charity event since she was very young.
It is with my apologies to Linda Hill and her #SoCS prompt that today’s post is not as fun filled as I normally try to create.. I try to always post things that lift others up or give them a smile.
Sadly, at this particular time, when I hear the word reservation my heart and head are heavy. Since hearing the news about Anthony Bourdain, the word only conjures up memories of watching his great food show Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations with my husband and dreaming of visitng all those wonderful places and having similar experiences as Anthony. He will be missed by so many. That also reminds me of the recent suicide of Kate Spade and not so recently of Robin Williams. All will be missed. So many people lose hope and in a single moment of deepest despair make that decision to abandon the life they were born to live. It breaks my heart for them and for those who love them.
The word reservation also conjures images of the atrocities suffered by the indigenous peoples of this and other countries for decades, a fact that many people still are unaware of or simply don’t care to look at. The issue of our government separating parents from infants has not been confined to illegals over the course of its history. There are still Native Americans seeking their natural families after being taken from them as small children and forced to live in foster homes. These are not myths or justifiable procedures. They are heartbreaking stories of growing up with a sense of lost identity and disconnection.
I have no reservation in speaking from my heart about these things. Life is beautiful in so many ways. I try to always glean the best from every situation and share the perfect moments that I find; however, we must also look at those things which are tragically present in this world and that we can affect with our prayers, with our voices and our votes, and above all else-with our love.
May Peace reign over the dis-ease that is insidiously infecting God’s perfect creation.
1 Peter 3:9-11
9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult. On the contrary, repay evil with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing.
10 For, “Whoever would love life and see good days must keep their tongue from evil and their lips from deceitful speech.
11 They must turn from evil and do good; they must seek peace and pursue it.
I rarely quote scripture these days; but since many use it as a weapon, I feel it is necessary to bring to light the words of the Christ who is being used to commit many atrocoties against his message. I also do not equate ‘evil’ to the traditional interpretation. In my heart evil is fear. When man fears he wishes to destroy. My mother and father taught me as a child that “There is no fear in perfect love.” It makes perfect sense to me, yet it can be a mighty mountain to climb in this life.
Even our thoughts have power, so we must use these thoughts and our words wisely, lovingly and without reservation.
Happy #Free48 everyone.
The empty air between us seems
so thick, so distant, as in dreams.
Memory fades to hazy view,
framed in melancholy hue.
Razor’s edge once cut so deep
now
rusts in pools of tears I weep.
I wept-no more-the well is dry,
the burden gone, with wings I fly,
no more bemoan what might have been,
how sadder now the days than then-
still…
above the noise sometimes is found
the thought of you hanging around,
the buzz,
the glint,
the sting,
the scent,
more bitter than sweet.

This fellow and another were determined to be noticed this weekend. So I stood there with my camera taking dozens of shots in manual mode just to capture the essence in one or two images. I was determined too!
