Okay, well, I am making up for lost time here, and my Mother’s heart is very full. While I was up North for a wedding for one of my sons, another was in a city elsewhere in the state of Nebraska helping his wife to deliver a baby. Unfortunately I was unable to be there for the event since both occasions were taking place only one day apart. I can only hope they show her my photo and when I get back there I can make up for lost time.
Meanwhile, I have to show her off, beautiful big bundle of joy that she is. 9lbs 1oz of pure heaven. My sons says she is a very good baby; and he should know since he was the easiest of the four. Never caused me one moment of stress, and now he deserves some of that action. 😉
Her name is Rayne…
She has five (yes, I said five-including a set of adorable twins) siblings to love, spoil and ruin her. 😂
They made it to the wedding! Got some Maw Maw hugs in. I’ll post a Mom photo when she gives me the ok.
They are all a mix of both parents. This one, though…I think looks like Dad.
If she has his sense of humor, life will be wonderful for the whole house!
You know, when your entire week has seemed liked this….
it is only logical to long for the #Free48, that mystical place where you get to do all you dream of doing during the 5 days that seemed more like the 7,200 minutes that they were. Yes, I am being practical and counting non working hours because we all know our minds remain connected to the job until that glorious moment when we, like children waiting for the bell that heralds recess, punch our tickets and fling our critical thinking to the four winds.
My usual tactic for Friday is to find the nearest good food watering hole and begin the process of necessary amnesia. C’mon, you have to know we tried a new place. It was only logical to check out a venue near my favorite Friday hangout in The Battery, (aka Wahlburgers) just in case our choice proved to be a disappointment. We were not disappointed. Spending the evening sipping some really unique cocktails made with great skill by our bartender, Alex, ended up a great way to end the day. We will defintiely add El Super Pan to our list of favorite places to unwind. We almost felt like we were back in Costa Rica, although it is a Cuban venue. The Cuban sandwich was so good, the bread perfect and my Tostones with a cilantro oil sauce were also great.
The bar was great. There was filming going on so we had to shhhhh…🙄
There is a nice patio too
Up close and personal
The Cuban sandwich and Tostones
Truly the best Cua Libre I’ve had. Not too much cola.
Alcohol offerings on the flip side. My drink was a Latin version Old Fashioned made with vermouth and bitters, camapari. Not too sweet!
A very special drink
As to the #Free48, there are no plans as of yet. I need to do some serious writing and there are a few practical things to consider, like whether we keep watching our resident chipmunk continue his methodical melee’ on our tomatoes or take action. 😕
Well, at least the butterflies enjoy the spoils….

And now…..drumroll please……..for my Victory moment this week!
I did NOT eat one of these…..
(although I did look at them at least three times)
Ahhhh….progess, and an awesome end to a somewhat chaotic week. Thank you, Linda!
This prompt reminds me of one of my favorite songs by one of our favorite bands.
So, after a week of feeling the tension of the world increasing to mind numbing levels, I got the sweetest video yesterday morning from my grandson’s Mom. It is dark due to their being under a blanket. (It isn’t your eyesight failing!)
The Fourth Little Bird says, “Every little thing is gonna’ be alright.” He was born on Earth Day, so I trust his intuition. I think Bob would have enjoyed his rendition.
As I was sitting outdoors yesterday three crows flew overhead and landed in a nearby tree, one of them squawking away. They stayed the entire time I was outdoors too. In many ancient legends crows have specific duties and connotations. I read up on the various prospects and my favorite about three crows is that big, exciting change and transformation is coming. It didn’t hit me until later in the morning that they arrived a short while after I got the Three Little Birds video. It played in my head all day.

Happy Sunday.
Oh, we went to a really cool music venue last evening, had good food, drinks and listened to an awesome Blues band. I’d say that was a good start to new adventures…
Even got to see a lovely sunset!Except for the Big Giant Head I like this shot.
Go out and make some magic. This is my message to you…
