Reflection

A bit of photography ‘magic’ and some thoughts over at Dreaming Existence .
I have been working feverishly to complete the book, having all this extra time on my hands. And making jewelry, reading, baking, cooking. I hop outside for a bit of Vitamin D when I can and am watching the little back yard lake slowly drying up….😞

I am still here, am healthy, we have shelter and food. I hope you are all faring well during this most frightening and disruptive moment in our lives. Take care, stay safe, stay in, love one another, and wash those hands!

😘🤗💕

Changes

More ramblings from an unemployed mind. Stop by and say hi. We can share a few moments together in my sacred space

The door up top? That’s for my buddy Dan Antion. He is a faithful prompt poster and today is for Norm Frampton’s Thursday Doors prompt.

It didn’t fit with my words over there but I wanted to share a door here. This one was taken in Chattanooga, Tennessee a year or so ago.

I hope you are all very well. Stay safe,

Cheryl

Forever Never/Dream to Nightmares

I am finally ready to draw this tale to an end and so have begun its final walk. Here is an excerpt in my new space. You can read my words Here.

PS. I hope you have a fantastic #free48!

Why Can’t It Be So…

This has been my favorite holiday song for many years. While not a traditional hymn, I feel it speaks to the Spirit of Christmas and the message of the Messiah in the most profound sense. Most people are filled with a sense of wonder, forgiveness, generosity and hope at this time of year. Why should our hearts and minds abandon such truths once the music stops, the decorations come down and the world returns to its spinning, busy, hectic routine? Elvis sang it best…

Why can’t every day be like Christmas? Peace and Love be with you today and every day in the coming year. If you can’t find such peace, then be that peace.

Love and Light always,

Cheryl

Repose

Repose:

B60B438B-15D3-482A-B082-45DF3CD8A338

a state of rest, sleep or tranquility..

a state of resting after exertion or strain..

a place of rest…

peace, tranquility…

lack of activity…

cessation or absence of activity, movement, or animation..

to lie at rest, to lie dead, to remain still or concealed…

to take a rest, to rest for support…

What place is this, such promise be

where soul finds peace, tranquility?

Thus waits the cool and shadowy balm

that fills the troubled heart with calm.

Where time stands still, they lay their fears

and soft, the light will dry their tears.

Sweet rest, for hope doth thus suppose

salvation found in sweet repose.

If You Think

If you think that nature is accidental, without order or purpose, or that what we do has no impact on its metabolism, then you aren’t looking closely…

CB3C80CA-BF39-4E2A-8576-018D1F468F14

We are all leaders and followers, explorers and sages, lost and found, stumbling around in a daze, the days float by like wispy clouds across the landscape of evolution, revolution simmers within the soul of forgotten dreams, what seems to be is not and up is down, the quaking ground disintegrates while we dance upon its face and disgrace the toils of our ancestors, blaming them for not foreseeing our arrogance and gluttony, the litany of progress and technology drowning out the cacophony of the Earth’s despairing cry-“Hear me!”

Every living thing, every cell within existence, is part of the never ending chain. What seems minuscule to us is in turn herculean to another, right down to a single celled organism. You can’t idolize Science when it heals you, gives you technology and progress, then deny it when it tells you something that is frightening, undeniable and imminent.

Look closely. It isn’t just about you or me. There are others who stand to lose and be lost, generations denied their own opportunities if we don’t accept responsibility and work for change.

Please…don’t break the chain.

Look closely at this image. At first glance the tiny photo-bomber seems like an ant. It isn’t. It is just a tinier version, looking up to our tiny friend who looks up to another who looks up to another, who looks up…
