Reflections of My Life

DE24BC76-34D7-4AD6-AB49-E2963E018C2C

Will I, when faced with life’s review,

be content to watch my passage?

Will I be proud, ashamed

to see my name

on that eternal movie screen?

Life, indeed a stage, and each must

play a role with no script in hand.

Do we follow our cues

for the paths we choose

or boldly improvise?

I hope with constant vigilance

to owe such little recompense

that I may revel in the rest

as I lay aside my script

with its pages worn and ripped

to bask in brilliant Light

in sweet repose.

I shall return the key

until it’s time for me

to succumb to the seduction

of another huge production

that will give me second chances

and with no backward glances,

find new glory in the spotlight-

Center stage.

This song was a favorite of mine in Jr High School. I still love it though it is almost never played in oldies venues.
Love and Light and happy #Free48 to everyone!

Old man, take a look at my life,

I’m a lot like you were…..

Seeing these moss- bearded ancient trees brought to mind an old favorite song of mine. You are amazing, Mr Young.

I’m In!

Dear Lord I can’t believe it. After weeks of being too

a) stressed

b) busy

c) uninspired

d) busy

e) couldn’t get into my account!

I finally remembered the secret password to get into my own space once again. But, now what to do with such freedom? Since returning from our wonderful trip to visit all the grandchildren Life has been so hectic, yet without exploration, sans excursions and short on inspiration. Sigh..

I am hoping  anticipating new adventures coming up soon that I can share with you. For now we are in flux, transition and eyeball deep in moving boxes. Stay tuned, for I miss sharing beautiful things with you all. Meanwhile, I am trying to catch up on blog posts but forgive me for being so far behind. I’m still here, still love your words and images, and am still seeking the small and mighty miracles in this insane world we call life.

There are quite a few famous and infamous people buried here

Some of the more famous people buried in Wyuka Cemetery are George Starkweather and Gordon McRae.

We didn’t get to see every marker but my little buddy helped me to find many very interesting headstones. It was beautiful and nippy there in Cornhusker land. What a grand time seeing everyone.

I always feel like the silence of the cemetery welcomes life and laughter with open arms, like they are  saying,

“Thanks for remembering us here.”
Stay tuned…I’ll be back when life slows down to a dull roar. Meanwhile, a word from Ghandi…

Let It Shine

Corinna, Corinna was a favorite film of ours through the years. This little song has been worming its way through my gray matter all night. It was one of our Sunday School standards growing up and it never loses significance.

It can be so hard to carry on as the happy, bright beings we are when life’s burdens feel so heavy. At times it seems all we are seems to offend and repel those around us. It is all too easy to withdraw into ourselves, retreating from the pain of loss or fear of rejection.

It is during these moments that we have to hold that little light high for all to see, to remind ourselves that our heart light sustains us through Life’s difficult walk, and to remind the hand of darkness that the Light is eternal, its source sustaining its Children.

If you have the chance, catch the movie. Its message of love and acceptance, tolerance and honesty, remains a relevant one.

A single candle will light the dark….
