So see here we are midway through our first month of the year and Linda Hill’s #JusJoJan event. Today’s prompt is presented by Carol Anne. I am also participating in Dan Antion’s #Thursday Doors regular event. Please check out these sites to meet other great bloggers and read some really cool stuff.
A couple days ago we took a drive around the roads in the mountains where we live. Even though I consider my little yard a nice slice of paradise, getting out opens up a wonderful vista of beauty and life. The saddest thing to me is seeing houses that once were a hime for someone, perhaps filled with hope and promise, that now seem filled with despair and emptiness.

This place is known locally as ‘the haunted house’ but it’s actually an abandoned home project.Still it looks pretty mysterious and the fact that it is sealed off just adds to the mystery. There are definite doorways in there.
This poor little brightly painted house appears to be wilting under the despair of emptiness.

A closeup of the door that continues its role as protector to this once occupied shelter.
I hope you are all warm and safe at this time.

It is disheartening to see abandoned homes.

I pressed reply too soon. I meant to add that the scene is a little sad. Good response to Linda’s prompt.

It really is. I always want to move in and spiff these houses up, then give them away!

Interesting capture, Cheryl. Potential candidate for the TD Writing Challenge – that should certainly be able to inspire someone 😊

That would be fun. It is emotion evoking to be sure. Any abandoned house seems woeful to me, Dan.
