Pure delight-
veil of oblivion
obscures the world
of curious eyes,
no more you and me,
we blend as one in
ecstatic golden euphoria
that numbs the senses
shatters my defenses,
soul laid bare and
barely aware of time,
our enemy and friend
and thus we pretend
we are are its master
as it marches ever faster,
stealing the future,
clouding the past,
as evening casts
long shadows
where we lay
spent,
content,
he ticks his tock,
this bitter clock
called a life,
within its well
hope springs
eternal!
