Forever Never/The Dawn of Illusion
Original Novel and artwork by Cheryl Pennington
As I plug along with the editing process in my efforts to get my book published, I have had many positive notes, words of encouragement, and so much help from friends, family and total strangers-those I like to consider ‘friends in the making’. I thank you all!
I wanted to share just a short excerpt from the book, and I would be very eager and appreciative for any feedback or thoughts you may have. This work has been the culmination of over fifteen years’ worth of soul-searching, healing, and growth. This story is me, you, us-humankind. The word is Love. The Unconditional Love of the Creator, that which belongs to everyone without strings attached. It is my fervent hope that anyone who reads my book will find comfort in the story. The characters are fictitious, as is the story; but it could be real. As real as anything is in this illusion we call physical life.
This piece is merely a glimpse; but perhaps I may share more before the process is complete.
If you are new to my blog pages, welcome and I am so happy you are here. I hope you look around and find something that interests you. If you are a friend returning, welcome back. Please feel free to leave me your thoughts and ideas, or just say hi.
As my favorite line from A Course in Miracles states,
“Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing Unreal exists. Herein lies the peace of God.”
I hope you enjoy!

The Traveler/The Question
…….The Traveler’s face was solemn as he stoked the fire with a broken branch and sat back upon the cold ground. He knew now was not the time to speak of his encounter with the lowly creature by the river. It was merely a nod, after all-a grim invitation from the Dark One; and how he loved his games. He would save that tale for when they began their journey into the white mountains.
As far as the question, that was another story altogether; and it was one the heartbroken Traveler felt lacking the true authority to tell. He had heard so much of it from the time he took his first breath; and it was, after all, his own history, often to his regret in these times. Taking a deep breath, he began the telling as he knew it. His memory was sharp though the detail might be lacking. Only Mor could fill in the missing parts. After all, it had been the desire of Great Spirit which started it all….
this piece takes place further into the story, as one character struggles with newly awakened desire and the choices she must make.
“In this dream walk called life, there are paths that may cross and choices to be made. No one path is perfect, but one direction can bring perfection to the All while another may feel as perfection to the One. It will always be your choice which path you desire, and you will never be punished for the choosing. With your gifts of power came great responsibility. It may require you to make a great sacrifice as well. Remember this when the desires of your heart and flesh move to betray your purpose. Always know you are loved. No human can give you what is already your own.”
